Thigh Lift San Francisco
Thigh lift surgeries, also referred to as thighplasties, are used to reduce the appearance of excess fat and sagging skin that has accumulated in a person's thigh area. These surgeries can also be used to remove excesses in the knee region as well. When complete, patients of thigh lifts will benefit from a slimmer, tauter thigh that they can feel good about when wearing jeans, bathing suits, etc.
Redefinition of the thigh is surgically conducted in order to make it proportional to the rest of a person's body, i.e. butts, legs and abdomen. As such, these surgical procedures involve toning both the inner and outer areas of the thigh to remove loose skin and excess fat deposits that have accumulated in unnatural ways, contorting a person's body to a shape with which they are uncomfortable or unhappy.
What kind of thigh lift is right for you?
Several types of thigh lift surgeries are available for patients looking to reduce the appearance of dimpled tissue, loose skin and excessive fat in their thighs. Depending on the severity of your condition and the personal aims you have for post-surgery results, different types of thighplasty are available. These include:
Medial Thigh Lift: Medial thigh lifts are referred to as inner thigh lifts. These procedures call for an incision to be made at the groin fold of the patient. The surgeon operating on you will essentially lift the skin and tissue in your thigh to tighten the entire area. As the most popular type of thigh lift, this surgery has proven to work best on patients suffering from moderate excesses of skin and fat in their thighs.
Outer Thigh Lift: When an outer thigh lift surgery is performed, your surgeon will need to make an incision that begins at the groin and extends around the hip. This type of surgery is typically performed on patients that have lost weight and now need to tighten the loose skin that remains post-weight loss. In some cases, the procedure can target the outer and inner regions of the thigh as well as the front and back of the thigh.
Vertical Thighplasty: A vertical thigh lift allows surgeons to provide patients that have significant amounts of loose skin and fat an opportunity to get rid of them. Essentially, this procedure is carried out by making a vertical incision at the crease of the groin and continuing it all the way to the inner knee. (The scar will only be visible when your inner thighs are exposed.) The procedure involves the removal of a wedge of skin from the inner thigh, resulting in a slimmer, tighter look.
Combination Thigh Lift Surgery: In some cases, one type of thigh lift may not be sufficient to correct the problem. When this happens, a combination of two or more types can be conducted to provide patients with their desired results. Combining any of the above mentioned surgeries will depend on the quality of you skin, how much and where the skin and fat need to be removed from and your personal preferences.
In the first 48 to 72 hours after your thigh lift has been successfully completed you will likely experience some feelings of discomfort. Past patients have even described feelings of tightness in the area that underwent surgery. During this time, you will also experience swelling, bruising and general soreness. While these symptoms can be reduced by taking certain supplements prior to your surgery, they typically dissipate within three to five weeks post-operation. Of significant importance to many of our patients is the fact that they can see results, namely smoother, tighter, more contoured thighs / legs, almost immediately.
