The Treatment Session

The Juvederm treatment takes around 15 minutes to administer and is usually performed as an outpatient procedure. You’ll need to visit the doctor’s clinic for the procedure. Since Juvederm contains lidocaine as one of its components, you will not be given another anesthetic, unless the doctor feels otherwise. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic used to numb the treatment area.

Using the course that he has mapped for you, Dr. Miranda will inject small quantities of the Juvederm into selected portions of your face and allow it to settle. He will lightly massage the face to ensure the gel is evenly distributed.

No Recovery Needed!

After your Juvederm treatment, you will immediately be able to return to your daily schedule. Your face may feel tender for a few days. You are expected not to move your facial muscles too much or undergo any tanning treatments for a week.

A small amount of swelling and bruising are normal and will disappear shortly. Ice packs may be used to reduce swelling.
